What is a service?

A service is the type of trip a vehicle can be expected to carry. The service is related to the mobility task a vehicle is expected to carry out. It may be any type of service category, such as food orders, groceries, laundry, flowers, etc. For example, if a company delivers both restaurant food orders and groceries, then the service could be specified as restaurant or grocery in order to keep track of the type of service within the trip.

This feature is used to categorize trips to better assign vehicles and/or drivers. If certain vehicles are designated for specific services, such as a refrigerated truck for carrying groceries, then categorizing the service will help create better optimization solutions.
